WPC-Narrow/ Tortoise in Pushkar

The post appears in response to WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge-NarrowThe challenge this week:

This week, let’s keep things narrow (but not narrow-minded!): share a photo with your take on the theme. You could focus on a slender object, or shoot an image where your field of vision is restricted. Alleyways and half-open doors, seesaws and water slides, spaghetti and electric cords… the world is full of narrow things. I can’t wait to see which one you’ll pick for your entry.

We were in Pushkar for the World famous “Pushkar Cattle Fair“. After having a round of the fair, we were enjoying Mediterranean fares at a popular cafe in Pushkar. It’s run by Israeli woman and is famous for wood fired Pizza’s and banoffee pie. Suddenly, we felt something unusual. We tried to look around but were unable to  spot anything unusual. Few second later, we saw this “creature” walking past our feet; now we could narrow down the reason. This sent the women at our table screaming and running around which eventually made the entire staff of the place to rush to our table. They were unable to understand the cause of screams; everything  looked fine. Then one of them asked us the reason for commotion. And we pointed down towards this.

After having a look, he laughed hard probably thinking why should someone be afraid of this harmless creature? He picked the tortoise from the floor and safely left it  at the other end of garden from  where we were seated. We inquired  “is it not illegal to hold him here?” He replied “it’s not our pet; they walk in our cafe like guests” and smiled. “Pushkar lake has many and some choose our cafe for an outing”.
